Bowden Square was filled with the joyous sounds of Christmas when about 100 people turned out to join St Boswells Concert Band on the Monday evening before Christmas in the singing of carols. Suitable refreshments were provided by the Village Committee and the Kirk Session. The Newtown St Boswells & Eildon Community Council has in co-operation with SBC and the Rural Resource Centre been able to institute a free, weekly 'Shoppers Bus Service' for the area.
